    Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about CME/CE credits, accreditation, and claiming your certificate.

Who is CME Outfitters, our accreditation partner?

CME Outfitters is an established continuing education provider that has been creating accredited education for clinicians since 2002. It has developed more than 6,000 educational activities and issued over a million certificates.

It has held Accreditation with Commendation from the ACCME since 2006. In 2025, it earned Joint Accreditation with Commendation from the ACCME, ACPE, and ANCC, a status awarded to providers that go beyond the core accreditation standards.

What is Joint Accreditation with Commendation?

Joint Accreditation recognizes continuing education providers that meet established standards for interprofessional healthcare education, meaning education planned for the whole healthcare team.

Our accreditation partner, CME Outfitters, holds Joint Accreditation with Commendation. This distinction recognizes that a provider meets additional criteria beyond the core accreditation requirements.

Pulse Medical Certification partners with CME Outfitters to jointly provide our ACLS, PALS, and BLS courses. CME Outfitters provides independent educational oversight of these courses and designates the CME/CE credits they offer.

What CME/CE credits are available for ACLS, PALS, and BLS?

Our educational activities offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for physicians, ANCC contact hours for nurses, ACPE continuing pharmacy education, and ADA CERP continuing dental education credits.

ACLS and PALS offer up to 8.0 credit hours each, while BLS offers up to 4.0 hours, subject to the applicable professional credit designation and participation requirements.

How do I claim my CME/CE credits?

    After completing your course:

    1. Scan the QR code or follow the credit-claiming link provided at the end of the course.
    2. Complete the online evaluation and post-test.
    3. Download your CME/CE certificate immediately upon completion.

The credit-claiming process is managed by our accreditation partner, CME Outfitters.

What information do pharmacists need to claim ACPE credits?

Pharmacists must provide their NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth during the credit-claiming process.

Our accreditation partner, CME Outfitters, reports eligible pharmacy credits to the NABP CPE Monitor system within 60 days.

How can nurse practitioners receive credit for these courses?

Nurse practitioners can apply for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

AANP accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ from Jointly Accredited Organizations. These courses are jointly provided with CME Outfitters, LLC, a Jointly Accredited Organization, so the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ you earn can be submitted to AANP.

Nurse practitioners can also apply for credit through their state boards.

Do certification and recertification courses offer the same CME/CE credits?

Yes. Our certification and recertification pathways use the same underlying accredited educational content for each course, so they offer the same applicable credit designations and maximum hours.

Learners must complete the applicable educational activity and credit-claiming requirements.

Can these CME/CE credits count toward professional license renewal?

Our courses offer recognized professional continuing education credits, including AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, ANCC, ACPE, and ADA CERP designations.

Whether a particular activity satisfies a licensing or renewal requirement depends on the relevant licensing board, profession, and applicable regulations.
