Dizziness and Weakness in the Emergency Department

You are leading the care team in the emergency department. A 67-year-old man reports 30 minutes of intermittent dizziness, weakness, and nausea. He is alert and speaking clearly. His pulse is regular at 44/min, blood pressure is 118/72 mm Hg, respiratory rate is 18/min, and oxygen saturation is 96% on room air.

A nurse and cardiac monitor are at the bedside. IV supplies, emergency medications, a monitor/defibrillator with pacing capability, and additional team members are immediately available.
